Hi everyone, hoping to get some help with my little barred rock chick. She is probably about 2 weeks old (we got her last week from a local Tractor Supply). So far, she's been fine, but this morning was a different story. When I checked on them first thing, they were all up eating/drinking - spread out and happy. Later, I notice the little girl in question nestled down sleeping, but when she would get up, she was very unbalanced and her neck was cocked to one side like it was cramped up. At one point she fell onto her back and was struggling.
I *think* it might be wry neck...but we had one little chick pass away yesterday, so I'm worried it might also be coccidiosis? We put a preventative dose of corid in their water this morning.
The temp in the brooder seems fine (85-90F) and the other chicks seem comfortable. We have large pine shavings and cardboard as their bedding and have been cleaning things out every other day or two.
Right now, I have the sick chick separated from the rest of them and am treating her for wry neck (egg white + vitamin e) and we are trying to get her to drink water and eat every few hours because she is not doing so on her own.
Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!! I really don't want to lose another chick
