young chicken could not stand after dusting with sevin.

thanks to all of you for the advice.i will try the pillow case.these chicks are pretty wild and do not like for me to put my hands on them.i will only be able to dust them at roost time.

what about useing seven in there sand ? just enough to get on them..seams easy and safe to me..any info on this?

Wouldn't it be safer to use Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth? I use it to dust the dogs for fleas and we all; people and pets, take it internally.

we did the pillowcase sevin dust on saturday evening.the young ones that i had posted was so wild.they were so easy to dust.i picked them off the roost board, put them in tail first and dh rolled them gently.

I like the pillow case idea.

I have used a sock, put Sevin dust powder in it and dab it on the bird.

WOW I just had a good idea, if I ever raise parakeets again, I'll use your pillow case idea using a sock!!

Or just find their favorite dusting hole and lace it with Sevin. They'll treat themselves with no muss.

And the other posters are right, Sevin is totally safe, it was how you were holding her.

my she has turned into a he.he started crowing sunday morning.i was so hoping for a pullet.
