Young Chickens Behavioral Question

I have 7 young chickens (3+ months old). They will not leave the immediate coop area. The "coop area", as I call it, is a small 6x6 fenced area. My other adults chickens either fly up and over the fence go go through a small tunnel I've made to go out and free range. Do I need to make my young chickens leave the fenced area? ...or will they eventually venture out on their own? I raised them myself. Bought the chicks from a farm store.
