Young chickens moulting!

My 4 young girls (11 weeks) have started to loose feathers. In the coop in the morning and within the run there is a collection of feathers. Also whenare free ranging, I've seen feathers around the garden.

From the two silkies they look like their bum fluff feathers & from the two marans, they seem to be a mix of large & small feathers.

The girls live very well together, I haven't witnessed them fighting or any signs of mites. There is DE in the coop to also safeguard against this.

Could this be juvenile moulting? Is that a thing?

I am not at all a chicken expert but I have two young ladies a couple of weeks older than yours and they are molting like crazy and seem perfectly healthy.

Yeah, girls are still strutting about & loving life

I was just a bit shocked that every day there seems to be more & more. I didn't think they moulted until 16months upwards

Yes, juvenile chickens go through mini molts till their about 6 months of age, then they do not molt till next fall, of course depending on their age.
