young chicks and old hens in same coop, how to seperate there feed

Multi flock starter/grower (is non medicated, 22% protein) . You'll then need to offer your hens some extra calcium. Feed back the empty egg shells, and pick up a bag of oyster shell (I can get 50# for $10.) In the winter months, I do not feed layer at all. Keep them on the multiflock for the extra protein.

Depends of the company, Purina and some other feed mfg's do sell a "Multi Flock" feed that is Medicated..
Purina's Flock Raise comes in Medicated and a Non-Medicated, There Medicated Flock Raise contains Amprolium.

I guess my problem is that all my livestock stores I go to here in Australia, just look at me like I'm from Mars when I talk about the layer feed hurting their kidneys. I feed back egg shells and oyster shell anyway. There is no multi flock or equivelent that I can find. I think I have decided to go for a grower plus my extra egg shell and oyster shell. I am only concerned about the amprolium content, as I can't even get a grower unmedicated. I have asked them all, they have that blank look once again. Thanks for your help and advice. :he :he

You don't need to seperate the food. Just mix the chick food and normal food in the same feed dish, they'll pick and choose, or just give everyone chick feed. We mix our chick feed and regular and it's all good.
