Hello all I am new member to this site but have visited it a lot over time. Today I done my morning checks to find that one of my new hens I just bought as a point if lay has died I have only had her 2 weeks I have kept hens for nearing 10 years and never had nothing like this happen before. Could anyone help me understand what has happened the bread is light sussex a new bread to myself. They are cleaned out every 3 days plenty fresh water and layers pellets of plentiful

Not sure I understand the gutted part either - and honestly, sad as it is, sometimes birds just die and the reason is not always clear. As long as she showed no signs of illness before she died and the other birds seem healthy, you should not worry too much.
 
Gutted is another way of saying I am upset
