I have a young Speckled Sussex. She is great. Very friendly. I noticed yesterday that she was limping. I picked her up and checked both, feet, legs and lower body. Everything looks and feels fine. Today she was doing it again so I checked her over again. This time I checked her toes. On the foot the she is limping on her outer toe does not bend easy. It has a tight feeling when holding it straight out, she bends it just fine. She has the same problem on the other foot just not as bad. It is hard to describe but kind of feeling like it has gravel in the toe. Just at the joint close to the nail..
I am not sure and she is such a great chicken. I do not want something to go untreated and have a major problem or lose her. She is small, eats, and drinks fine. She is about 19 weeks old. I have 17 pullets in a 10X10 pen with shavings on the ground and a wood latter roost. They free range with the older hens during the day. Everything else looks great on her. Good color and healthy looking feathers. Worm them every other month. If more info is needed please just ask.
Thank you for any information.
