Young hens first eggs

I have a 5 1/2 month old Buckeye that has just started laying. I've read that chickens lay about 3 to 4 times a week but this girl has layed 6 out of the past 7 days. The eggs are about half the size of normal. Will she eventually back off on laying so often? I'm afraid ahes going to wear herself out.

Different breeds will lay different quantities of eggs. Even different birds within the same breed will lay different quantities of eggs. Since she is young she will lay a lot more eggs than if she was 3 or 4 years old. I have an elderly black sex link that still lays five to six eggs a week.

Basically what I'm saying is it varies.

There is nothing wrong with her laying that many eggs. No she will not wear herself out.

All breeds I've had have laid 5 a week right off the bat. The size seems to take some time to get bigger. I've waited several months for their cute little eggs to come up to size.
