I am Getting eggs from young rir hens. The eggs are thin shelled and difficult to peel when boiled. They have access to layer feed and oyster shell. Is it because they are young or something else?

Fresh eggs are often difficult to peel when hard boiled.

Here's what I do. If possible, I use my oldest eggs for hardboiling. If I know ahead of time that I'm going to need some, I leave some out on the counter overnight. Eggs left on the counter age about a week for every day vs. egg refrigerated.

I bring the water to a hard boil and add a tablespoon on vinegar to the water. Then slowly lower the eggs into the water using a ladle. Remove immediately from heat, cover and let sit 12 minutes. Then rinse repeatedly in cold water until the eggs have cooled.

As far at the thin shells go, I'm not sure what could be causing that. Perhaps they will harden up as the girls mature.
