Young hens

I have 6 young hens that have been laying for about 3 weeks. All are not laying everyday, they have nice nest boxes but 1 or 2 continues to lay their eggs on the ground . Why?.

Because they are new and are still learning what to do. Make sure you have fake eggs in your nestboxes to show them a safe place to lay. Hens like to lay where other hens do.

Occasionally when pullets begin to lay they don't have no idea what's going on and they just push eggs out wherever they are at when the urge hits.
