Young maple tree leaves

I have 7 3 month old hens and we're getting rid of a couple small maple trees. Can the girls have the leaves or are they poisonous? I don't want to hurt them. These are my first chickens. Please and thank you for any help.
I really hope I posted this to the correct place.

I know some members use leaves in their runs to give the chickens something to scratch around in. I don't know if your chickens will actually eat the leaves but they'll enjoy picking through them to find any tasty bugs.
