Young Pilgrim ganders with grey spots?

So, I purchased 3 gander goslings from Metzer this year and assumed they would develop all white coloring with the grey rump. HOWEVER, two of the three have grey splotches on their bodies. Is this normal???? Should they have these grey spots if they're purebred? Thanks!

Hatchery stock chickens always express defects. I don't see why geese would be any different.

Hatchery birds of all breeds frequently deviate from standard. They may molt out pure white.
