Is there any obvious personality behaviors present in males that are different then hens?

I've seen some baby roos at around a month old practice jumping on month old hens in their brooder box.

Also I notice the roos don't have a real taste for sun bathing or taking dust baths.

These are just things I noticed from my mothers 2 roos. Do you guys think there's any merit to these observations?

Im new to chickens myself. So far i have only seen my two roos jump kicking each other and sometimes the other birds. As for sunbathing and dust-baths, they all love doing both.

Roos fight more when chicks. Pullets will fight but not for as long or as hard as the roos. That's the only thing I've noticed. Only had chickens for a couple of years though.

Yeah, roosters are friendlier and folks like them more. You can almost guarantee when someone posts "Is this a hen or a rooster, it's my favorite bird and so friendly" it's gonna be a roo.

I really didn't notice behavior differences, but I've only had one roo per batch, so I don't know how brooding two roosters together might lead to different behavior.

Hmmm.. I just feel there must be some differences that could set them apart when they are young.
I have this one baby silkie who wigs-out every time I take her sister out. Even though shes/he isn't alone. She wont tolerate it she starts screaming looking for thee missing chick. Then she jumps on top of her little hamster house and start crying even louder!

Shes only 4 weeks old.. Isn't that boy behaviour? She isn't in charge of her little flock either.

Here she is on her hamster house at 2 weeks old

with silkies the cockerels are usually bigger then the pullets with in a few days if you dont catch it then then you will have to wait till they are 4-5 months old for sexing.

all that other stuff doesn't determine gender i have raised both pullets and a bunch of cockerels together and they all act up the same there is no difference between them

OH Lame! lol it just figures!

I got them when they where 3 days old they all looked to be the same size. So I guess I either have all hens or all roos!
