Oh MY.
My flock was originally seven chickens strong, and the oldest is ohhhhhhh 18 wks old. I have an accidental roo. He's getting feisty. *wink wink*
Recently added two laying pullets to the group, and one of them dashed out of their segregated run & coop area into the Original Chickens' run. The roo started after her, cornered her, then had his way with her.
Afterwards, she dashed right back to the segregated area, as fast as chicken legs would take her.
*Ahem* I've never witnessed the deed before. (Chickens, that is. Or any other fowl.) My other six pullets apparently aren't ready yet. And yet Carl knew exactly what to do.
He's been crowing much more, ever since.
