I have a young roo who keeps picking on the two girls he's with. They're all the same age, about 4 months old. This morning my one little lady wouldn't even come out of the house. He was waiting in the yard for them. The yard is currently only 4X4 I intend to make it bigger in the spring I wanted to keep them in the barn for the winter. Will he stop picking on them with more room? I'm not interested in raising chicks, should I even bother with a roo? He's super cute, but I can't have him bothering the girls all the time. I am very new to chickens so maybe this is normal and I just don't know it.

he may stop when he gets more room. I had the same problem...thought it would be nice to have a roo but both times I ended up getting rid of him. He would just not leave the girls alone and they would spend most of their day hiding rather then eating grass

Just sad. Hope yours improves...you can try to put him in jail for a day. That may help.
