Young Roo with prolapsed vent that keeps returning- needing further guidance.

I have a 2 month old chick, due to feather shape, attitude, and comb growth we suspect a rooster. On Friday we noticed blood on its rear and immediately removed it from the rest of the flock. Blood and white runny poop, some had began to crust and a red protrusion from the vent. I've tried to clean it up, but there is just some I can't get off. I clipped surrounding feathers. We've sprayed with vetericyn. Tried gently getting the protrusion back in many times over the last couple days. Offered lots of water. Tried eggs and olive oil. No matter what I do every time the chick poops, it pops back out. Is there anything else I can do or is it time to relieve the chick? It used to be our biggest and it's lost so much weight, it's so sad. This is my first experience with a prolapsed vent and I always try to do everything I can. I'm getting discouraged with this one.

Others may have advice for fixing it, however personally I'd consider if I need a rooster or not. If you can't or don't want a rooster, is putting further time and money and possibly a vet visit worth it for a bird you'll re-home that may end up someone's dinner? If you can have a rooster, is this a desirable bird with traits you want to breed on, is potentially passing on some defect that could be linked to this worth it?
