Young Rooster Vs. Older Hens

Hello, im new to raising chickens, i have 8 in all includeing a rooster who has the rest of pecking at him violently. the hens are about 4-5 months old and grow up with each other (not laying just yet), im not sure how old the rooster is but he came from another farm but hes much younger. How do i get the hens to not try to kill the young rooster

Hopefully you quarantined him before introducing him to the flock. If he is smaller than the hens, it might be wise to remove him until he is mature. Then introduce the hens to him one at a time- over a period of time - days not hours. Established flocks always make life heck for those newly added-- kind of like the new kid at school.

I have him in a seperet area, hes looks to be very stressed and is not eating alot, hopefully he'll get back on track soon
