Youngest pullet to lay an egg?

I'm thinking my Ancona may lay first because her comb is getting bigger and redder. More than my other breeds.

Still no eggs... I guess a watched pot never boils!
I know this is impossible, but don't obsess over it. They'll lay when they are good and ready and not before. You'll just be surprised one day to see an egg in the nest or on the ground somewhere.

Just take good care of them and they'll get there. I'm currently on my 4th generation of chicks, so I've seen it enough times.

You're 100% correct. I'm trying to be patient. I've had such ups and downs with these chicks- including bad case of coccidosis where I lost 2 before I saw any obvious symptoms. They survived a hurricane, though! It's been a journey.

I was just saying that I thought chickens were supposed to be one of the easiest farm animals to raise but I've had some stress for sure. I thought all my nerd research would prepare me but there's never a replacement for experience.
