Does anyone on here make homemade ketchup that is sugar free? We had a lot of paste type tomato plants growing for our canning tomatoes and we would really like to make a lot of sugar free ketchup. The price of that is so unbelievably high in the supermarkets.

You might be able to make it "no sugar added" but you can't make it sugar free as the tomatoes already contain plenty of sugar.

Yes we understand that but added more fuel to the fire is not something that we need to be doing. We make no sugar added jams and jellies already. We pay the extra for no sugar added BBQ sauce but $6 for a bottle of ketchup because they don't add sugar is crazy.

I no longer use enough ketchup for the cost to matter.

I've only ever made fermented ketchup and it did have maple syrup as a sweetener
