Forecast last night was for frost, so I covered some of my plants, including the raised bed that still has lettuce growing in it.

We didn't quite get there, about 36°F, but I expect we'll have a true freeze in the next week or so.

I was hoping to get something done outside today, but it's still pretty chilly and windy, brr.

I got my Seed Savers catalog too! If you don't see a variety you want in the catalog, check their website.

I'm planning to order from them and Sow True Seeds. STS is in Asheville, NC and got caught in the Helene mess. They sent out an email saying that they were out of commission, but they definitely would be back (and are now, I think). They said if anyone wanted to help them, that buying a gift card would keep their cash flow flowing. So I did.

I'm still planning on replacing a lot of the vegetable garden with berry plants. Primarily brambles. I can barter with some of those for the things at the farmers market that I cannot grow well without a lot of raised beds. I traded a basket of okra for a basket of fresh peaches. That was a win win for both of us.
