Your 2025 Garden

How will you harden them off?
I don't. I take them directly from the greenhouse to the garden.

They get full sun in the greenhouse except for the shade they provide each other. They get exposed to the wind daily because I have both ends of the greenhouse open to keep from overheating it.

I think I'll be moving the plants out tomorrow. I put them in dog crates covered with sheets. Get them used to filtered sunlight (that's what they get in the green house), protect them from wind for a couple days, and keep the critters away.

They'll spend a few days in the crates, with the sheets off for more and more hours.

Today I'll spend time getting the garden ready for planting. It's mostly ready, but I have a few things to move around, and I'll put tomato cages out so that I can see how far apart to space things.

I do not have to do much hardening off of plants that have been growing in the greenhouse. They get lots of sun and breezes with all the windows open.

Anything put outside the greenhouse is fair game for the deer so I cover them at night. They are mostly safe once planted in the fenced garden. I had been using some old sheets to cover. I recently was doing some cleaning out and came across some old sheer curtains. I was going to throw them away they had yellowed from age. They have made nice sheer plant coverings. Very light weight and helps with insects too. Glad I saved them.
