...look at the insect damage at the base of this squash. It should be dead, but it appears to have re-rooted itself in the yard.

Zapallito del Tronco is the variety, bought last year from Baker Creek seeds.

I looked these up and the Internet says they're a winter squash but are often eaten like a summer squash because they're so tasty. Which way do you enjoy them?
