Your 2025 Garden

I'm planning to add perennials, mostly native to NC, to the north side of the property. I already transplanted some Rose of Sharon shrubs, to be a future privacy screen. I'll be adding some perennials in the autumn. Today I bought a couple Joe Pye weed plants.

They will attract pollinators, too.

I really was impressed with Seed Savers, ordered more beans from them.
Oh, yes. Seed Savers Exchange and Sow True Seed are the first place I go to for garden seed.

The reason I ordered from Sow True was because I had a gift certificate. They had quite a bit of damage from Helene last year. They sent out emails saying if customers would like to help, the thing that would help most right then was cash flow. Since it was September, not many people would be ordering seeds. So they sold gift certificates.

I watered the tomatoes today and saw two that are getting ripe. One was half red, half green. It was the Red Green tomato! The other was the "orange-y green before turning red" color.

I think I might be canning before the end of the month! :yesss: It would be great to be able to do 4 quarts 2 or 3 times before the onslaught when I have to do 7 quarts 2-3 times a week just to keep up with what's ripe.

We need to make more of hubby's salsa this year. We ran out of last year's salsa. Don't want to do that again!
