Your 2025 Garden

The forecast was for on-and-off showers today, so I planned indoor tasks and errands. It sprinkled around 9 am, and that was it. Oh well.

Tomorrow, we should get hours of rain. So one of the errands was to get some more apples, and tomorrow I think I'll make some cranberry apple jam. Hubby can watch football. I'll make Christmas presents.

Here too. I even skipped the farmer's market thinking I'd have to deal with it. What we did get around 9:20 - 10:15 was so light I'm not sure it even registered. The truck that goes around spraying water on the horse track before a race to keep down the dust would've wetted the ground more. 😕

The meteorologists are pretty sure we'll get a soaking tonight/tomorrow. I sure hope so. I hope it's spread out enough that it doesn't cause any flooding issues, but it will be what it will be.

There's a creek behind our house that has totally dried up. I can't recall it ever doing that in the 31 years we've lived here.

I'm still gardening here in zone 8a.

I planted my cabbage late, so I added a trellis today. Once we get a frost forecast I'll add clear plastic. I had lettuce into January with that method.

Those are volunteer sweet potato vines in the back.

I recently weeded one of my carrot beds, the chickens appreciated the greens.

I've been harvesting turnips, greens, chard, and peas.
