Leftovers are always a huge hit....they seem to know when we come with one of our silver pans that the people food is coming.

They seem to love proteins and starches the best, such as rice, leftover meats (including bones!), berries or anything red, sunflower seeds and the grossest thing, dead mice my cat brings back for them!

They like Cheesy Broccoli & Rice, but will fight you over some home made ham & beans. I've seen it.... it ain't pretty.

Hubby's leftover morning oatmeal, blueberries, fresh spinach and yogurt!! Oh, and my child's fingers.

Nothing's better than a cup of live mealworms and waxworms for my chickens.

In the Spring, mine go crazy for earthworms but now it's harder to find them. If you are digging and hold up a worm, you can hear the yard come alive, with feathers and accelerating birds.

Cold watermelon rind (with an inch or so of melon left)!!!!! Of course pretty much anything "people food" and it's a show.

My flock have 3 favorites:

Tomatoes

Cooked rice or spaghetti chopped up

ANd last but not least, I cook up pancake mix, with a couple eggs, and corn bread mix, and add either corn of the cobb, or canned corn that I have drained like 5 times to remove the salt. I fry up big corn pancakes and put paper plates or wax paper inbetween. then refridgerate or freeeze and thaw.

They love them! Good winter treat tyoo, cook them up and serve them warm.
