I knew that there was something strange about Solomon the white. He's betrayed everyone now and tried to kill Gandalf! He's on Sauron's side for literally no reason other than 'if you can't beat em join em' I guess the creator of the hobbit movies is pretty good at foreshadowing while also not making it odvious.
I haven't seen more than the first movie because they butchered it badly enough that I didn't want to see more, but Beorn was probably my favourite character in the Hobbit. In the Lord of the Rings, probably Tom Bombadil.
Really impossible to pick one favorite! Love the books and the movies, although the movies spend too much time doing impossible battle scenes. More time spent on the stories, less time whacking inept orcs would work for me!

I pick Radagast. Though so many are awesome. I read the Hobbit in 5th grade, MANY years ago and have been a huge fan ever since of the books and movies.
Gandalf would be an easy first choice, but I love the way Radagast is portrayed in the movies. I love that birds nest in his hair and that he has moss growing on only one side of his face like a tree. He is at one with nature, quirky and not quite right in the head, all redeeming qualities IMO! Not to mention his rabbit led vehicle.
