My husband has caught them in a trap then shot them with a .22. Do you close up your coop at night and ensure the latches can't be opened by the raccoon?

yes however this is the first time anything like this has ever happened in over a year. I didnt realize it could open the cage that its going up to in this pic so we need to make a lock for it the other chicks it got to were younger and i had them put up in rabbit cages introducing them to my flock and it got them open as well
i know it may souns stupid but we have never had a problem before and we live in the city lol not so sure where we would shoot it i hear month balls will kill them and they like to eat them??
