Monster in law, refers to an evil hearted mother in law. Think about all the evil queens/stepmothers from fairy tails, then realize that some women are so upset that you've "stolen" thier sons that they will do anything to drive you away so they can have thier "baby" back. you can get alot of unhealthy dynamics in family relationships, and many mothers can see a new wife as "wrong" for taking thier son's attention. Watch the boys you date's mothers if they seem mean/crazy in the beginning it's not likely to get any better.
