Last night I cleaned out the incubators of eggs that werent going to hatch and this morning hosed everything out (put the last few eggs I am not sure of in another 'bator) and bleached, they are setting in the sun right now.(Bluh. The second to the last egg I took out exploded!! Eww. The smell is indescribable.)
I have set some japanese bantam eggs, blue andalusian eggs and my three peacock eggs. This week and next week coming are guinea eggs( I am going to try again!!), silver appleyard duck eggs, black australorp eggs, speckled sussex eggs and easter eggers.
Then this is it for me until fall when I MIGHT set a few eggs. Famous last words I know!! But I figure I am about at my limit now and happy to have what I do.

Well hi! I am doing the same thing. Mine is in the bathtub right now. Boy that stuff sticks to everything. And stinky...
I am going to use the brinsea disinfectant. I have heard that you can use bleach though. Do you ever have any problems with that?
Then into the sun too.
I don't think I can stop hatching though. I've got it bad.

Me too i have some unhatched eggs in there that i dont think is going to hatch and i need to get rid of them im going to clean it out and set more ameraucana eggs and SILKIES!!!

Actually before I set them in the sun I use both a little bit of bleach and dish soap, so far havent had any problems with that?
Okay. I probably wont stop hatching completely, just in smaller numbers, especially once anything I have starts laying, the first probably around September or October. Then I am going to also do a free egg contest like other people on here have been doing, a pay it forward sort of thing.
Maybe with quail first though, I think they can lay eggs at eight weeks?
PS greencastle_ducks, so you have the hatching bug too?
