Hi, first time chicken owner/raiser. 25 white rock(?). So far so good. Haven't lost one yet, knock on wood. Had chickens as a kid, so lots of paraphenelia/behaviors/smells do not surprise me. Am amazed though at how I view them like kids. Actually call mine kids or girls!! My two sons (12 & 14) think I am crazy, oh well on them! Got my husband calling them girls too, so I am not alone in my craziness! Two Golden Retrievers and one momma cat with 5 babies who enjoy watching the flock in their antics. Lots more work than i expected, but labor of love. Thanks for having a site like this for us chicken people!
