Zane... An Update for Those Interested

What is it with them? They blah blah blah and pet them when no one is looking and go to see them to talk to them but claim they needed something from the area or were just passing by. I am like "Yeah, passing by the girls' area way over on the side of the property near the leech field and fence line where everything is NOT going on.

My DH puts on no aires, he loves the chickens even though they were originally my project. When we swapped up roosters recently the first thing he asked if if he could name the new roo. I thought that was wonderful. I often finding him sitting in the yard or down by the coop at night surrounded by or holding a chicken. He's especially fond of the roos.

It's hard not to love a chicken who snuggles against you and just adores you. One hen in particular just worships my hubby, a Barred Rock named Becca. But even before Becca was here, this is what I'd find from time to time:

I sure wish I had that much room for the girls to roam. I'd be worried that an eagle would snatch them right up, not to mention lynx or other odd critters.

I like the saddle that looks like a corset...

That's awesome. You gotta love it when they all get comfortable around you or another human. I have one SS that follows me around the yard along with my 1 dog. Its kinda cute to look back and see the two of them side by side trailing me whereever I go.
How is Zane doing?

Zane is trying like heck to straighten his leg. He wants it to do what his brain is telling it to; you can really tell he's frustrated with it. We're just doing gentle therapy and massage. The infection seems to be truly gone, FINALLY! So, time will tell if he can get some movement back in the leg.

Ernie's gotten used to having Obelisk around, finally...he's says you wanna give that to the chicken? will the chicken eat that? I think HE

wants to go out. I hear her making noise, what's wrong?
He even fed her a treat once...you coulda knocked me over with a feather.

Speckled's DH looks like a contented man. And his girls like him too. What more could a man ask for?
