If you can't get the handfeeding formula Cyn. I have an almost full bag that I was using for Penny. You can have it...
I mixed it very wet, added Polyvisol and applesauce...
If you're not able to get the handfeeding formula right away, this is made of ingredients you can get at any local grocer. I've used it exclusively to rehab a severely abused and malnourished Scarlett Macaw, and she recovered beautifully.
Good luck with Zane. I'll be praying for you guys.
Em
Thank you, Em! That's great and those are certainly ingredients that are readily available, too. I also have AviaCharge that I can mix up in the proper proportions, then use as the water part of it, too, for added vitamins and minerals. I appreciate you taking the time to post this for me. Zane has so many friends at BYC.
I am at a loss for words.............so very sorry. Prayers are coming your way daily. I am also praying that someone ...anyone who works for or is a vet will read this and something will click and they will have an answer for you. Not eggbound, not a crop problem...
Has anyone been crop dusting in your area so that the wind might have blown something your way? I know, I am grasping at straws here. I keep remembering all the pets who died after eating tainted pet food a year or so ago. Nothing else makes sense to me?
Carrie, I don't have the type farm land near me where that type crop dusting would take place. It's very mountainous, rather than rolling farmland, for the most part. I know everyone is racking their brains trying to help my boy and I really appreciate it.
HenHaven (Lynn) sent me her mother's bowling ball sling to make a nice comfy hanging sling for Zane-thank you!! I think this will work. The shape is great for this! I'll post pics after we get it finished and get Zane in it. In the meantime, here are pics of Zane with his human sling, my DH, out in the bright sunshine today. You can see how pale he is and how his comb is curling over to the left now.
