Hello! I recently bought a male and female zebra finch, they laid eggs a week ago and they are taking turns sitting on them in their nest. I noticed that there is poop all over the nest, but I would never want to disturb them. Would it be possible to clean it without causing stress on my birds?
My second question is, does anyone have recommendations on a healthy diet to provide for them? They currently have a commercial brand seed mix with fruits/ veggies every day but I am not sure if there is anything they are missing.

Thank you!

Don't touch that nest! Lol! I know it's tempting to clean the poop off, but it won't hurt anything. The risk of stressing them is not worth the cleanliness. I raised and bred zebra finches myself as a teenager. Get them some egg food, or make your own, for extra protein. Also, consider separating your male once the chicks hatch. I had a female kill her mate after she hatched her babies. Not sure why she did it, so I ended up hand-raising her chicks just to be on the safe side.
