Hi everyone, it's great to be able to communicate with a lot of people from different sides of the world at once! πŸ˜„πŸŒπŸ–οΈπŸ”πŸ“πŸ€πŸ¦†

I'm wondering if I can use zeolite in the chicken and duck coops?
(mostly because I can't find diatomaceous earth at my local animal care store)
I'm currently having problems with external parasites on my chickens (not sure if they're lice), and I'm about to spray them with a pancid+ solution, also I plan on spraying the coop with an insecticide.
So just wondered if putting zeolite would lower the possibility for creating external and internal parasites in the future?

Forgot to mention: I bought zeolite in crumbles, is it better to use like this or in powder? Thanks in advance for all the advice and time for replying. Lots of love from Serbia πŸ‡·πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡·πŸ‡ΈπŸ˜ƒπŸ™‚

Zeolite is a mineral that absorbs odors. Neither it nor DE will do anything to treat or discourage external parasites. But zeolite is great in the poop boards for odor control!
I don't know what the active chemical is in Pancid. If it's permethrin, it will work. But the birds and the coop need to be treated. In the US permethrin comes in a dusting powder and a liquid concentrate that can be diluted down to spray the coop and birds with. It doesn't kill mite/lice eggs so retreatment of the coop/run is required after 7 days after a second full clean out of the coop.
Provide a place where the birds can dust bathe regularly if they don't already have that.

Thanks for advice, as for the solution the active chemical is alfa cipermetrin 5,77%. (sorry if my spelling is wrong, still getting used to and all...)
They told me I could use it to treat the infected birds as it is used for supressing rats, ants and external parasites.
