ZERO HATCHED!!!

I've heard...but can't confirm..that heat spikes can happen if you have the bator plugged directly into the wall because of surges in electricity, especially if you live in an OLD house like mine.

When I first set up my bator the temps were everywhere and when I plugged it into a surge protector the temps became steady. It's just a theory, but worth a try and it worked for me.

I live in a new house, but I know we have lots of power surges and outages. I don't know why I didn't think of that myself!!! I will go buy a surge protector this evening after work.
Thanks, guys - maybe this will be the magic trick that fixes my problem!

Lori, I also usually have my bator hooked up to an Uninterrupted Power Source type unit. Then the surges are taken care of and if the power goes out, it keeps the bator going for about 30 minutes or so.

That's an excellent idea. I still can't believe that the thought never occurred to me, considering how much power fluctuation we have where I live!!!! What a ding-dong!! I must be gettng old!!! Ha!

I think ours fluctuates with the howling of the coyotes??? I guess that's the price we pay for living out in the sticks- but I wouldn't move to town if you paid me a million dollars!!!
