So excited 2 hours ago my little chick started to zip!

I'm noticing he is going down rather than to the side. Is this ok?

I will post a pic the best I can the window has fuzz on it so it kind of hard to tell.

Well its been 3 hours and the past hour and a half it hasn't done much else. Here is a picture. I can see kinda a yellow greenish color on one side of the crack but I can't tell if that's just the gunk of the egg or the membrane drying out.

Have looked at your pic membrane still looks ok and white, your chick is probably resting you may find all of a sudden it will finish zipping very quickly all chicks do these things at different rates. I would read the assisted hatching post on here just incase you have to make the decision to help. I don't think 3 hours is too long they often make there pip hole bigger then rest before starting the full zip.:hugs

Ok thank you ill prolly wait until tonight to help maybe just slowly pull of the tiny pieces near the hole. M biggest concern would be taking it out and me holding it while doing so would dry out the shell.

Would it harm it it I opened it and laid it on its side. Wouldn't that make it easier?
