I have somewhat the same question only my chicks are 4 weeks today, 4 that are 3 weeks, adopted. I have the coop all set up for them and its not drafty at all and the heat lamp is all set up and maintaining a temp of 78 degrees, Will they be ok if they are outside in the coop instead of inside...
well my hatch rate isn't that great considering that i started with 50 eggs, 15 never developed past day 10. So we went into lockdown with 35 and we just had number 22 hatch! This is great!
Well i saw my first pip yesterday morning at 5am, that egg hatched at 11pm. and yes they can pip on the bottom, I think mine actually did it on purpose so i wouldnt watch! lol
We have 18 hatched, 17 left with only 4 without pips and none of mine made any noise until they hatched and then they scream! So far we have one silkie out of5 3 others have pips and i just checked one without a pip and it is moving so it just needs more time! Congrats! By the way it all went...
So adorable! I went out of the room for a few mins and came back to another hatched chick! i swear these babies dont want to be watched! so far 3 hatched, 18 pipped and 14 with nothing!
Sorry wish i could help, my babies, bantam Cochin's, have fuzzy legs! Do you have any pics? Maybe if someone on here sees them they could help you determine what kind they are
