Final update.
They're doing fine. The vet said that the one "bigger" hole in her bill would brobably remain, other two small ones might still close up (horse vet took a look when he was out for the horses). She breathes a bit different, but does fine.
The black one, who had the wing chewed, is...
Here's some pics that were taken Sunday.
She's doing okay. Limping and her leg is swollen, but acting like a duck, eating, drinking, quacking .
Her Swedish friend didn't fare as bad, but is getting treated w/the topical and oral antibio, also. Her wing got chewed. The Swedish hen is black but...
update
She's doing pretty good. Was up waddling around yesterday, looks lots better and started eating (super ground duck food - thanks to coffee grinder). I'll try to post new pics later. I saw some, but can't post, yet (friend has to send "link" thing).
Not my duck, a friends. She did get...

Phabulous Phive
Mandrake (Rouen, you can guess gender )
Ping (Fawn and White Runner drake)
Pong (Black runner hen)
Bibi (crested blue Swedish hen)
Raider (Cayuga hen)
Got them from Ideal at the end of April last year. Ordered pullets (14) and didn't want them to...

Bake with them, they're great.
My cuz that's going to chef school to be a baker said she heard they''re "desired egg" for pancakes and waffles. It's just her first year.
Congrats!
Thank you all very much. I passed the information along.
The duckling is drinking and breathing normal. I'll update when I hear (she's in Cali and I'm in Wisconsin).
I'm hoping it looks worse than it is, sorry to make you sad.
Appreciate your time, input and help .
Posting for a friend...
Neighbor moved and deserted their cat. Sad, but it's gotten hungry and managed to get thru to the two ducklings that were penned. She got the cat out but the Khaki Campbell looks pretty bad. Survived overnight (she moved them back to the horse trailer so they're safe...
Yep, you've got a duck egg .
None of my three hen ducks (Cayuga, black Runner, blue Swedish) have ever layed the "color" that the poultry books said.
Raider, the Cayuga (nephew named her when little and we didn't know gender) has laid some eggs that were over 3 1/2 oz..

Oh, I wasn't scolding, just noting in general. Usualy takes "until the bough breaks" to notice that it's even happening.
When I said a husky could live outside, I kinda meant in a yard, not on end of a chain. But, the sled dogs do live like that, but they are also exercised daily and...

Sorry you lost you little Gisell. Glad you could get her sisters, but it's best, as someone else said, to keep them separated by "fencing for a while". They don't remember each other.
Communicating with him is a good idea and hope he takes it to heart. A husky can live fine out of...
Thanks, ya know how "mother hens" worry. She does have a waterer that they can dunk their heads into, too. I think she's letting them swim in the tub a little, too (she did w/her two Pekin's last spring).
The clear eyes stuff is something the vet gave her for her horse. But, it's pretty basic...
So, today, the eye was crusty. She's taken a pic and I'll post when I can. (it does not look as gunky as that other duck from yesterday's thread).
I told her the saline and terramycin (she has horses, dogs and cats, too) and I think might have terramycin ophthalmic ointment on hand.
Thanks for...
