    Quiet Peafowl, Anybody interested???

Hey, I haven't been on here primarily because of all of the haters. I still haven't done any peacocks yet but I have had a few offers from some that are interested. I'll probably end up with some eggs from a client to try it out. I think it's kind of funny that people question my surgical...

    Quiet Rooster, Brown Leghorn

I've never seen one in person. From the videos I've seen some of them look like it's irritating. Obviously we can't know that for sure but it's an observation. If this works for you then great. It can't really compare to the surgery though. I do surgery on very young roosters, less than a...

    Quiet Rooster, Brown Leghorn

Thanks welly, I've caught a bunch of ridicule about this procedure, but people forget that for every pullet hatched there is a rooster that hatches also. I think that a flock seems to function better with a rooster around and this procedure can allow those to have a roo and not get fined or...

    Ko Shamo Thread!

Is there a consensus on double spurs? I like them and have read that it can happen in the breed but was wondering if it would be considered a fault. I kind of like it, something else that sets these birds apart. James

    Quiet Rooster, Brown Leghorn

Up for sale is a young Brown Leghorn cockerel that has undergone my crow-reduction surgery. He is very quiet and a really nice looking bird. Here is a video of him, He is not the quietest bird I have produced but is not as loud as a cackling hen. He would make a nice, colorful addition to a...

    Ko Shamo Thread!

Hey, I've got a few pullets and stags that I was wondering if anybody would be interested in swapping. I'd like some that have good type and prefer whites or blue wheatens. I have some black mottled, blacks and a color that I'm not sure how to descripe (pullet in last pic). Not perfect but...

How do you keep your nipples from freezing?

I currently use 1 lt bottles with a nipple screwed into the lid and a hole in the bottom to fill it. Works great until it gets really cold, they do thaw pretty quick in the sun though. When I grow up I'm going to bury a 50 gal drum with a float valve and run a re-circulation pump so the water...

Quiet Rooster, Blue Isbar, almost silent crow

Up for sale is a young Blue Isbar that has had crow reduction surgery. He is good with the other birds and shows no aggression toward people. Here is a video of this rooster crowing, I am a veterinarian in OK and have been developing a surgery to lessen the volume a rooster can make during...

    Decrowing Roosters.

I thought that I'd take a look since bumble foot was brought up. He has no lesions on his feet that I can see or feel. So, he doesn't need treatment for an inflamed foot. But the crow reduction surgery helps to prevent him from losing his head, and maybe he'll even get to be integrated into...

Quiet rooster, Easter Egger post de-crow surgery

Up for sale is an Easter Egger Cockerel that I have performed a crow reduction surgery. He is very quiet, shows no aggression toward people and would make a good addition to a backyard flock that has close neighbors. I have a NPIP certified flock, willing to ship. Shipping, box and any...

    Decrowing Roosters.

I hate to hear about failures with this procedure. But it does happen. I actually lost one the other day. I learned something and adjusted my anesthesia protocol and it really seemed to work well. I'm probably going to be using a combination of injectable and gas anesthetic on client birds...
