    Possible Slipped Tendon ??

Good morning everyone! A few days ago I came home to one of my 4 month old guineas hobbling around and not being able to put a lot of pressure on her leg. Within 2 days she was not hardly using it, and last night when I got home she was not using it at all. More half flying somewhere and...

@BreInFlannel , the Tractor Supply in Lolo should be getting in baby ducks and chicks in the next couple of weeks. I don't know what breeds, but you can give the a call and see when they will be coming in, and possibly what breeds they will have.

    Bloody poop

Thanks MrsB! I have some Corid, so I will start with that. Hopefully it will clear her up. She is the only one with this issue, and I would like it to stay that way! I have noticed the run has a lot of these runny, dark looking spots all over it, and I really don't want the others getting it too.

    Bloody poop

After reading thru this thread, and a couple of others, I am pretty sure one of my month old chicks has cocci. Would it be possible for someone who has more knowledge of this, to help confirm or deny. She is not acting funny at all, eating and drinking normally. If its helpful, this chick was...

    Our Coops and Run

There is still some "adjustments" I need/want to make with this. Snow load on the netting is one of them! I haven't figured out what to do yet, as I don't know if the netting will hold any significant amounts. Suggestions? Something I have considered is adding hard wire fencing across the...

    Easter Egger club!

Hello all, new this thread. Not the best picture, but here is a picture of my month old chicks, 3 of which are EE. Does this breed tend to be bigger than most others? The other 2 breeds in the picture are Buckeyes and Columbian Wyandott's.

    Our Coops and Run

The run is finally done! My hubby did an awesome job of taking my vision and turning it into this :) . The coop on the left we built for the chicks, but then he decided we needed something a bit smaller till they were bigger. So for now, and until I get the rest of the dirt around the inside...

Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

Ok, soooo apparently I was just over anxious or nervous about them figuring out the pop door and ramp, lol. I opened the pop door this morning to let them out, and at first they were a little scared. But as this day has gone on,, they are in and out of the coop and have this ramp thing figured out!

Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

We finally got the smaller-to-grow-up-some coop set and together yesterday and got the chicks moved to it. They absolutely loved being able to have their toes on the grass and just forage about! They started making they beds of dust, and doing all the things chickens basically do lol. Only...

Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

@Blooie Just wanted to say thank you again for your original post on the heating pad idea!! My 3 week old chicks are loving it, and love being out in the coop! ( and I don't mind not having the dust and mess in the house as well lol ) . I belong to another chicken site, and had made mention...

    Bloody Nose

@Eggcessive , thank you for your help! I did get the blood cleaned up last night, and had her in the house overnight. She was eating and drinking before I went to bed. This morning, great news!! When I went in to check on her, she had tipped over her water dish into the food dish, practicing...

    Bloody Nose

Help! This lil one got trampled when dogs tried to get into the coop. She has this little bit of blood coming from her nose, is panting fairly hard, and kind of wobbly when walking around. Is there anything I can do to help or save her??

    Possibly Sick?

Help! I found this one this morning with a very pasty butt, and her eyes only open just a sliver. I got her all cleaned up, and her eyes will open fully now and then, but she really just keeps them like in the pictures. She is eating and drinking good, has the sav-a-chic in the water, but I...
