    LF Buff Cochin

I am needing a LF Buff Cochin Cockeral or Cock bird. I have 3 lonely, beautiful girls that are waiting for him! The rooster I had was very pretty, but he died before I got any fertile eggs from him. I live in SE Kansas, but I would be willing to travel some or ship.

    Denagard Dosage

I got some Denagard from Twin City Poultry Supplies to try. They have a smaller that you can get if you don't want to commit to the larger more expensive bottle. The bottle came with dosing instructions for small flocks. Preventative: 1.5 teaspoon per gallon of water. Treatment: 3 teaspoon...

    Peck-O-Matic anyone tried this?

This is very similar to Trigger Happy. I am pretty sure you don't get the bucket, but you do get the funnel, a tube for the feed to fall thru, and the hanging pan for the feed to fall in, as well as the trigger part. I hadn't ordered it yet, but I need to and stop thinking about it! LOL!!

    Peck-O-Matic anyone tried this?

This is not an advertisement for this product I saw an ad for this feeder on Craigslist, and I was wondering if anyone has ever tried this? I have seen other trigger type feeders, but not one like this. I am pretty interested, as it seems like you could keep your food waste down, and give...

To treat or not to treat?

I haven't posted on this site for a long time. I have really learned a lot here, though!! I got out of chickens for several years because of predator losses, etc. And here I am back again! So, I am trying to build my stock up again. I purchased some older birds. And, I have purchases some...

    New with geese

I like my geese. I have had several over the years. I had a pair that did well with my chickens, but hated ducks. The geese I have now seem okay with ducks, but I always move my geese into their own pens during breeding season. The become very cranky with each other and with other birds...

    A goose egg? Now?

My Chinese goose laid eggs in the spring and again in the fall. She was very productive! She came from egg laying stock. I was sad when we lost her. I have Pilgrims now, and I have not noticed any fall laying with them.

Is my goose's neck weird (pics) oris this normal Help!!! ):

Chiropractors do great things for my neck! (okay, joking) It looks like it is hurt, but it would be hard to treat. Maybe he sprained it and when it is better, he will hold it right again. Hopefully it gets better one of these days. If not, maybe he will be okay with a crooked neck.

Is turkey egg laying season over?

I had only one turkey hatch, and it doesn't look good for the other eggs. I don't want to raise a lone poult, though it seems rather happy at the moment with the chicks. I was wondering if laying season was already over in the midwest? I am in Kansas. If anyone has any inexpensive turkey...

    50/50 Fertility

Yes, they have access to a pool. She had bonded to a different gander previously, but seems okay with this one now. I moved the other two ganders out to a different pen. I did not realize I had 3 ganders until they started fighting. The two seem to get along fine, now that there is no...

    50/50 Fertility

I have some Pilgrims. I was supposed to have 2 pair, but one of my girls turns out to be a boy. I know, I know.... But he was girl colored as a gosling, and has lots of gray on her/him. AND his eyes were dark, until breeding season. So, this spring I discovered I have 3 boys and a girl. My...

    Adequate shelter for a peafowl?

Mine hated the houses, even in the coldest weather. They mostly just like shelter from the wind and rain. A three sided building with a roof and a roost would probably work just great. Have the back side to the north.
