Yes she is active and everything else looks normal. I learned something from you that poops of periodic nature. Thank you. Will try to check out other factors.
Thank you for the quick response. Yes she definitely got picked on by other senior hens. But her sister doesn’t show the same baldness. I got concerned with any squishy poop - looking for a more firm round-shaped one. She doesn’t appear molting. I looked up ascites syndrome, a bit lost there...
Thank you so much for sharing. Sorry for your loss. She is active and acting normal. Her rear end appears like this for some time now. I just noticed her poop today - I do get concerned if their poop is squishy. Not sure if she is laying now but no soft-shell. Ino signs of worm and I dewormed...
A 18-month barred rock, laying
One of the 15 hens and free ranged in backyard; she is only one with the symptoms
Bald area near vent and brown squishy poop( see attached)
Appreciated if you can point me some direction to address the issue if needed
I notice one of my 18-month old barred rocks having the same bald area. Seems getting worse. And her poop is brown squishy. Appreciated if you suggest how I should address it.
She looks okay in the picture. I haven’t had my chickens going through surgery, nor heard from my local chicken raisers. But keep us posted please. And pray the young hen get better!

Just to update - My BO was gone around 6pm. We didn't see what happened. But it seems that she either choked on food or her own vomit and suffocated.
I put out a plate of bits of rib-eye steak (raw) and a few small grapes around 5pm to replace the plate of scrambled egg, crumbles feed and...
It is hard to have one of your beloved pet sick. I am with you as having my own favorite hen (3.5 years old) sick : the prognosis is not optimistic to say the least. Having two gut wrenching days, I started to realize that I need to respect her will and just provide any possible comfort in her...
