Hello from Far Western KY. 10 acre homestead, dog cat, 34 hens 3 roos and row cropping.... our chicks free range and the eggs are by far better

we average 20 eggs a day from 24 hens..... have 10 more that should be going into production very soon

21 weeks old the roos doing their thing...... 22 Silver Wyndottes and Cinnamon queens ....ladies aint producing..... but then we have had worst heat wave in over 80 years, 30 days of temps greater than 90, many of those greater than 100 and a few 105 to 112 degree days in KY

so with this blasted HEAT..... over 30 days with temps near 100..... could this be a factor in our lack of eggs

so bury this jar near the coop or just on the property within a certain distance of the coop

last night was first night post invasion... i had to run the poor things into the coop... after all that is supposed to be their safety zone..... I nailed blocks against the door frame and stoop to make it solid, i found an opening at the end of the rafters used a 2x4 block to seal it, ...last...
