I did. I don't see anything that looks unusual. I picked her up today and turned her over like a baby doll. She's feeling thin to me too. I've put her in a parrot cage with a wire bottom (and a couple of soft spots where she can lay down) and it's hard to tell if she's eating her...
I have a sultan hen with a very injured leg. I don't see any cuts or swelling. If I run my fingers along the bone I can't feel anything that feels broken or out of place but she seems to be in horrible pain. This started Friday evening and I kept thinking with time alone away from the other...
I know I'm a day late and a dollar short. it's the story of my life, but I'd like to share a bag of DE with someone in the Salt Lake area or buy some from someone who has that 50 lb bag sitting around. Any takers?
First i want to thank Chickengal505.

I was able to get her to vomit but I still have questions. Is this something I need to treat the entire flock for? Should I make the sick girl vomit again if her crop still seems large? Do I put the antibiotics and electrolights together in the...
I still need more help. Please let me know if I should treat all the girls with the antibiotics. Is making her vomit just once ok or should I do it a couple more times just to be sure? How do I know if I got it all out. Do I put the electrolights in with the antibiotics or do I let her do...
I just checked on her and she's drinking and alert. She seemed to want to get out with the other hens and pick at the grass. I'm still keeping her isolated until I know more. Please let me know if I should treat all the girls with the antibiotics. Thanks again.

Thanks so much for your help. I got her to throw up until her crop felt completely empty. At one point I thought it felt empty and then she let me have it again. The stuff was dark green and super smelly. Either that or I have a week stomach when it comes to chicken vomit. I put antibiotics...
ok, so I gave hre some oil.. (I cut the end off a fish oil capsule made for humans) and dropped it, drop by drop in her beak. Her crop is large, the size of a large lemon, but not hard at all. My husband described it as so soft it might be air or gas. When I took her back outside I set her...
my 3 1/2 year old sexlink chicken looks like she's trying to gag up something. I picked her up because she layed down and looked like she couldn't move. I ran her into the house and she threw up, then she acted like she felt better but now is gagging ever few seconds.
She hasn't looked good...
I've posted this question 2x's before. This is my third post on the same thing. Where are my posts going? I buy my feed from the same supplier the woman in the article does. I think the article plays a sneaky trick that is often used in legal issues. They didn't test the food... which means...
I live in Utah and when I asked for it at my local feed store, they tried to sell me non food grade. Stupid thing is I just bought it without checking. Now I have a bag of garbage I can't use.
I have a sexlink that is only about 14 months old and she seems to have gone broody on me. Do they go broody that early.
My new batch of spring chicks also had some that were roosters and my rooster is about 16 weeks old. Is it possible her eggs could be fertile? So I guess my questions are...
so many good thoughts. This forum is full of wise people. I listen to the people talking about their cats being friends with the chickens and the ferrel cats killing the chickens. So my next question is has anyone ever had a cat that was a pet, kill a chicken? If the cat is someone's pet can...
