I'm in the same boat with my two, one quacks like it has a bullhorn and the other is much softer. There's also a size difference the quacker is bigger than the quiet one.
Here is a picture, the possible drake is in the front
I would love to block them out but the poor plants are on either side of my back door, and when I tried it wouldn't allow the door to open or close all the way cause it swings outward. The spray bottle is working for 3 out of the 4 but I have a very stubborn hen who has taken to charging me when...
2 weeks really? mine are twice that size and just turned 2 weeks, I might have godzilla ducks then. Mine never whispered, they have always been very loud peepers. They do a much softer peep when they snuggle with their stuffed bunny.
the first 2 pictures are from the day we got them at 2 days old 3rd pic is at 1 week old last pic is at 2 weeks old this morning
they have more than doubled in size, after seeing other people pictures I'm wondering if I got godzilla ducks cause they seem so much...
they are picking my roses, and jasmine bald. They even jump to reach the leaves, my poor roses are twigs with flowers, and they have taken to climbing the jasmine to eat what they can. They have plenty of appropriate food and grass to eat but they seem to want to drive me crazy.
My old flock used to come and aerate my soil and eat only the insects, however in my new flock the Houdini hen from hell has taken to pulling up my seedlings. The rest have learned to stay away very quickly with a stern warning and just pushing them away. However the sneaky ninja hen will bline...
Well this isn't what I was actually looking for when I searched for pepper flakes but very interesting. I was wondering if the hot pepper flakes would keep them from picking one of my bushes bald, so I see that it might attract them even more. I don't have a hen who lays thin shelled eggs so I...
I'm sure there is an answer to my question somewhere in this thread but after reading 13 pages I figured I'd just ask. At what age do they start to quack? I had ducks as a child, but that's been way tooooo long to remember at what age. I have 2 what we were told were hens from the breeder who...
She was about 4-6wks when we got her, she was in rough shape and had been pecked clean by the other pullets (my reason for taking her), she 25-27 weeks now. She's a good 4 weeks older than the others who are all different breeds. The closest in age is my buff who hardly has a comb or wattels, my...
I was worried that with my girls getting ready to start laying in winter (ok Florida winter) that the shorter days would mess them up. But my girl started on the 2nd of January and hasn't taken a day off, is that normal? I'm sure she's the only one because she's a few weeks older than the rest...
Ivermectin injection. Adams flea spray. I felt so bad that it was fleas, we call her mrs piggy cause she always knocks the water out and rolls in the mud. She's not the pretty creamy yellow more grayish with mud clumps, I thought it was dirt on her not fleas. She was 80% less fleas this morning...
