First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

Ah Jessica so nice to hear your heroic tale! You guys are awesome! I have less than 100 (need a quota here if you have more ) chickens and turkeys. 1 goose left and no, Ralph, I'm not replacing him when he goes. He follows me everywhere and nips the turkeys if I don't shoo him away. I know how...

Hummm, an incubator to dehydrate the fruit.... a dry hatch I presume? We are loving the dehydrated plums and will be starting the pears in about a week I reckon. Love your turkey stories... After hatching out 300 plus turkey poults all season, we did a final hatch for ourselves and were very...

Put them in a cool dark pantry, don't wash them until you are ready to use them. You don't have to keep them in the fridge unless you wash them because then you are washing off the protective bloom.

Thanks I'll check them out. I am pretty useless with electronics so may get a friend to put it in for me. Does anyone know if the 1202 is the same size as the 1502? Because I'd like to order acrylic doors for them and all the site says is that they don't fit 'older' models. I don't have them...

    Black Copper Marans discussion thread

I guess I'll find out too . I always dry hatch now as the bcms have an abysmal hatch rate if I put any moisture in until lock down day.really looking forward to using these 1202s. If I can get them both working I can just use one as a hatcher I guess but I'll probably end up selling one to pay...

thank you! I also hatch in another but was thinking. If 3 days a week out of 7, you are increasing the moisture significantly for ongoing incubation where you are continually adding more eggs once a week, it must do something to the hatch rate?

FWIW I was talking with a cream leg horn breeder at a poultry swap last month. She had 9 out of 10 hatched being male. She told me this was a common problem for that breed ???!! I'd never heard of it before. also speaking of the 1202 sportsman incubator can I ask a dumb question. I just got 2...
