How many of you have spoiled chickens?
Every time I open my back door me chicken collect by their run door and wait for treats.
If I walk right by them with no treats they squawk for a half hour till they get some treats😂😂
My three girls had diarrhea really bad after some flooding
I have the Cheerios and it cleared up
I’ve done this years ago for the same situation and it works
Has anyone else tried using Cheerios for watery poop
I have one hen who likes to attack the cats, she only attacks the cat when it gets close to the fence. The cat went to close to the fence today and the hen took a patch of hair off the cats tail.
It is halarious to watch HENS 1 Cats 0
2 of my hens won't go into the coop till after dark, like 11 or 12 at night. They stay out in the run and cackle like crazy:lol:. Anyone else have hens that do that?????
Two of my hens will peck at anything. They peck at your pants, shoestrings, boots, hands, heck my cat was laying next to the run they pecked through the fence and pecked her tail. If you walk by the run they follow you and try to peck you through the fence.
It is funny as hell!!!
One of my hens was killed by a neighbors cat, when the cat came back the next day head stuck his head into the run and the hens pecked his eye out.
The cat died, the neighbor called animal conyrol about what the chickens did, and they fined my neighbor for his cat attacking my hens.
justice was...
I put a string on the latch to the run, just in case the door latches while I am in there.(yes I got locked in there twice)
It took about two days for the hens to figure out is they fly up to the string and pull it , it opens the door. I unexpectedly had some free range chickens,,,,,
I have a hen who lays her eggs on the roost, where the roost is supported by the wall. The eggs never fall and break, she lays everyday.
Should I try to correct this or just let her go and laugh everytime I get the eggs off the roost?
my cop is 4inches too close to the end of my property, if I move the coop they want a foundation put in,,,, the gave th ok for the permitt
But a neighbor challenged it, and they determined it was 4inches too close to the line
Thanks for all the great advice!!!!!!!!!!!
I just am haveing some douts, I heard they can be agressive, is this true. some people told me they do not take well to other breeds. I need some advice please,,,,,,,
I am currently building my run,9' wide 15' long half will be covered, other half will be left uncovered. Does anyone see a problem with using sand in my run?
I have read alot about sand in the runs I am just haveing trouble deciding what to do...
It's just me from Bethlehem, PA
Kinda new to this, but was partially raised on a farm, nowI have the space and the time , so I am in the process of building my coop.
I am grateful for all the advice
Thank you
Gary
What egg laying breeds would you recommend? I live in central eastern Pa, ( allentown area) I have an 8x8 coop.
Prefer to have breeds that aren't excessively noisey or aggressive. any info, comments, opinions are greatly appreciated
