I have always selected roosters that get along. I do not keep troublemakers. They used to free range and roost in the trees. I have plenty of predators and I always had at least three roosters to a flock. My Quechua no longer free range. I had a problem with raccoons taking them out of the trees...
Been quite a while since I have been on here. I am looking forward to this coming breeding season. I plan on having a beautiful pen if Olmecs. Waiting on my handsome cockerel to mature. It looks like I will also have a nice pen of sweet potato Quechua also.[/IMG][/IMG] Anyone else plan on...
Great to see all the babies. I have only hatched a few Colloncas so far. Next year I will be hatching as many as possible! Letting my broodies do the work this year. It will be a surprise what I get.
Thanks! They choose to sleep in that tree most of the year even if it is raining or snowing. I have a few older ladies who sleep in the coop. They do just fine with my other birds. They are very assertive.
I know they are not real Ameraucanas. That is why I added the "i." Do not mean to be confusing.
I had a single chick and I needed some chicks pronto so, I bought my first hatchery chicks.
They need a new home because I have too many birds and I will not be using them for breeding...
