Thank you everyone for the kind words. I appreciate it so much. I took the trip up to PA yesterday. It was an 8 hour round trip ride but I don't care I got my eggs again!! Hahahaha!!! This time I even got a few cream legbar eggs along with welsummers, bbs marans, and bbs ameraucanas! Very happy...
In a few months I will be in the market for a german shepherd. my dream dog. can't wait. but I will be training it from a puppy that chickens are friends not food lol
It's a lab mix :/. it really sucks because they were eggs from a breeder in PA so its a 4 hour drive and the breeder doesnt ship eggs I happened to be in the area and bought some eggs from him last time. i had a great hatch with his eggs so I WILL be making the 4 hour trip again. Also, I brood...
Hey guys I ended up having a great hatch. 29 out of 34 that made it to lock down. but unfortunately my dog jumped over my room gate and mauled every chick but 4 to death :( this really sucks I feel so bad for those poor little birds
For the still air go 101 because it will have cold spots since there is no fan circulating the air, and I would keep the humidity at 30-35% until lockdown :) then bring that baby up to 65
every hatch is a learning experience. i used to have terrible hatches too. you pick up as you go. did your homemade bator have a thermostat? if not, i can almost guarantee thats why youve hae bad hatches. also, i wouldn't even buy the crow collar if I were you, that thing is stupid expensive...

I use the dry incubation method too :) I try to keep my humidity at 30-35% though. with large fowl less then that i havnt had the best hatches. how do you set up the eggs to fit that many in there?! stack them on top of eachother??
Oh were literally minutes away. we should meet up one day. I used to live in Medford. and My hatch rate with it is really good when I'm able to keep the temps stable in the room. whenever I havn't been able to keep the room temps stable I've had horrible hatches. Also, I usually buy my eggs and...
