not true, rhode Island Reds also sport black tail feathers, a Rhode Island Red is darker in color compared to a new hampshire, they are a nice dark chestnut color and the New hampshires are more of a faded red or light red, as they were not breed for color but egg production.
I dont know if this helps or not, but I do have a white leghorn pullets and golden sex link pulltes the same age, and there combs are a lot smaller and they are all smaller in general.

Can any one tell me if RIR pullets get big combs at a young age, mine is about 6 weeks old and its just now starting to get a little pink but it sure is big. I have two and bought them as sexed pullets. I will try to borrow a camera to take pics.
I have Golden sex links and there awesome, lay very well, and are winter hardy. Also had Black sex links, but I found she wasnt as friendly and my gold sex links, but not all birds are the same.
